Happy day!

Fox (the same fools who cancelled Firefly without so much as giving it a fighting chance) have redeemed themselves slightly by ordering a third season of Arrested Development. I couldn’t care less about 24.

Update: This is also happy news — Law and Order: Trial By Jury, the first real stinker in the L&O franchise, has been canned. The question is, what will Dick Wolf cook up next to stay ahead of the CSI gang? Stay tuned!

Nice to hear I’m not the only one completely underwhelmed by L&O:TbJ. I only saw a couple eps and that was enough.

As for CSI… I’m a big crime drama fan and I just don’t get this show. sooo verryyyy drryyyyyyy….

I like the CSIs, although for me it’s a cross between the characters (most of whom I think are great) and the mostly-accurate-but-dramatized science. I find them to be somewhat Sherlock Holmes-ish, the short stories at least. I mean, I say that off the top of my head an could change my mind once I think about it more, but they really are relatively straightforward who-dunnits most of the time, with some interesting science and deductive reasoning thrown in.

I can’t think of a single episode of CSI that I’ve seen where the conclusions seemed implausible based on the evidence. Sometimes they’re a little _obvious_, but most of the time they’re enough to keep me interested.
